Item Description
Maine Audubon works to conserve Maine’s wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people of all ages in education, conservation and action. Our hands-on, experiential nature programs excite curiosity and introduce the concept of stewardship to over 8000 students a year.
Recent Maine Audubon achievements include defending the Penjajawoc Marsh from proposals to build a Wal-Mart “supercenter” adjacent to the state’s largest freshwater marsh; strengthening the state endangered species act to protect critical habitat; and developing Maine’s first timber harvesting standards to limit clearcutting and record the extent of logging operations.
Your annual household membership includes:
- Discounts on day camps, programs and field trips and at our nature stores and many sanctuaries nationwide
- A one-year subscription to Habitat, our quarterly newsletter
- Membership in National Audubon and your local Maine Audubon chapter (where available), and
- The satifisfaction of knowing that you are supporting Maine's largest and most effective voice for wildlife.
