The World Affairs Council of Oregon, the state's oldest and largest international affairs organization, coordinates the International Speaker Series whose purpose is to bring influential world figures to Oregon to address the most critical ideas and issues shaping our global future. The 2016 International Speaker Series—“Which Way Ahead?” —provides a look at the horizon of major global ideas and issues with a slate of some of the most vibrant thinkers, writers, and doers of today.
For this fundraiser the World Affairs Council is offering two tickets to the May 19, 2016 presentation:
Rana Foroohar, TIME Columnist, The Curious Capitalist
“Makers and Takers and the Future of the Global Economy”
Thursday, May 19 7:00 PM at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 SW Broadway
Rana Foroohar is CNN’s Global Economic Analyst and an assistant managing editor for TIME, overseeing business and economic coverage across all platforms. Her column, “The Curious Capitalist,” covers the intersection of the global economy and Main Street. It is a must-read for economic and political thought leaders and one of the most popular features in TIME. Her first book, Makers and Takers: The Rise of Finance and the Fall of American Business, will be released in May 2016.
