Item Description

One hour round trip train ride between Belfast and Waldo in Maine.

Enjoy scenic vistas of the woods, fields, and streams of Waldo County on our signature ride as the train travels to Waldo Station and then returns back to Belfast.

Our excursions operate with two vintage GE 70 ton diesel electric locomotives, #50 and #53.  #50 along with #51 was purchased new by the B&ML in 1946 and remained on the line its whole career.  #53 was purchased used from the Montpelier and Barre Railroad in 1970.

The Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad is a division of the Brooks Preservation Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit all volunteer organization.

Item Special Note

Valid from June 1 through Columbus Day weekend. Trains run Saturday only during May and June and Saturday and Sundays from July through October.

There are no Belfast Train rdes during our Unity Weekends, Saturday/Sunday July 30/31 and Saturday/Sunday August 20/21, or during Common Ground Country Fair Weekend, September 25, 26, and 27.

The train departs from 13 Oak Hill Road in Belfast.
