Item Description
Morningside Mountain Octagon Blend 2011 is nominally a blend of 65% Merlot/35% Cabernet France, made in the style of Cheval Blanc Bordeaux. The vines, which are 17 years old, are located in Glen Ellen, California on Morningside Mountain in the Sonoma Mountain AVA. The winemaker is Don VanStaaveren, Wine Spectator Winemaker of The Year in 1998, and producer of the 1996 Ch. St. Jean Cinq Cepages, No.1 wine in the world that year. The style of the wine, unlike the the typical California fruit forward powerhouse reds, is very restrained and elegant with multiple layers of fruit and tannin, providing a unique drinking experience with a beautiful color and bouquet as well. For the optimal experience of the wine, please decant, aerate for two hours, and chill to the mid sixties.
**Buyer must be at least 21 years of age. Item is available for pick-up only.
