Item Description
One 45-minute private yoga session with Elly Lovin for a family or kids' play group.
My mission in teaching yoga to young children is to foster creativity, confidence, and a positive attitude around physicality and motion. A foundation in mind-body awareness sparked during early development can last through childhood and adolescence to create strong, healthy individuals. In moving, breathing and playing together, we are connected in our humanity through the somatic experience.
In addition to variations on traditional yoga poses, I use elements of dance, movement games, imaginative play, music, art and literature. I teach movement classes to supplement all aspects of a preschool education--from classes based on books like "The Runaway Bunny," "Harold and the Purple Crayon," and "Some Monsters are Different," to seasonal themes and conceptual lessons like "Shapes," "The Elements," and "Dances of America." When ideas and information are delivered through movement, children are empowered to take ownership of their learning.
