Item Description

Take a walk through baseball history with 2 guest passes for admission to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum!

The Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum is located at 216 Emory Street, three blocks west of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Just follow the 60 baseballs painted on the sidewalk from the Babe Ruth statue at the ballpark to the Museum.

In 2015, the museum completed its first major restoration project in its 40 years of operation. The renovation brings the attraction into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), highlighted by a new main entrance and lobby on the north (Dover Street) side of the building, an elevator that provides access to public galleries on the first and second floors as well as to the third floor offices, fully renovated public restrooms, a new wiring grid, and re-imagined galleries that tell the story of Babe Ruth as an American icon.

All of the exhibit galleries have been upgraded and refreshed, with multiple new installations featuring Ruth’s “Called Shot” home run theater, a display on the Babe’s favorite radio show, The Lone Ranger, including the radio Ruth listened to in his New York Riverside Drive apartment and the complete Lone Ranger costume worn by Clayton Moore for the popular mid-1950s TV series. Important Ruthian artifacts like Babe’s 1914 rookie baseball card, his Catholic rosary, and the wrong-handed catcher’s mitt he used at St. Mary’s Industrial School in Baltimore, have returned to public display.
