Item Description
This helmet is the real deal, full contact helmet signed by both Racer legendary coach and player.
On one side the helmet is signed by legendary Racer coach and OVC Hall of Fame member, Frank Beamer. Beamer, who was the consensus National Coach of the Year in 1999, is the active leader among Division I FBS coaches in victories with 273 wins over 34 seasons as a head coach. In his 29 years at the Virginia Tech helm, his overall record with the Hokies is 231-115-2. He became Tech's winningest football coach during the 1997 campaign. Counting six years as head coach at Murray State prior to joining the Hokies, Beamer's overall record is 273-138-4.
On the other side the helmet is signed by Racer great and current Virginia Tech Head Coach, Justin Fuente. Fuente ended up at Murray State after a one year stay at Oklahoma thanks to his high school coach, Bill Blankenship who was college roommates with then-Murray State head coach Denver Johnson.
Under Johnson, Fuente flourished, setting 11 school records in two years. He worked as an assistant under Johnson at Illinois State, where he met his future wife, Jenny. They ended up at TCU, then Memphis and now Virginia Tech -- where the Murray State ties are tough to ignore.
Beautiful acrylic mirror-back display case included!
