Item Description
This striking photograph by AIB Board Member, Marvin Miller, capture the metaphor of the balance of life in this American desert scene. The signed photograph measures 24" x 36" and its handsome driftwood frame accentuates the desert landscape.
Item Special Note
The balance of life is probably not understood by most species even if they are a part of it. And in reality, part of the Cirlce of Life goes unseen. In the desert, cacti, known as being efficient users of water, can also be a source of water in an emergency. Some cactus species provide homes for other other species. Hares and other small rodents may burrow near cacti to use the spines to thwart predator's attempts to have them for dinner. But cactus also produce oxygen and fix carbon, supporting animals in the circle of life.
Elsewhere, palms, yucca, agave and more provide shade and respite from the day's heat. They provide shelter for some and may be a food source for another species. Thus, the circle of life revolves and life in the desert hangs in the balance.
