Item Description

The highest bidder wins a one week stay for up to 6 people at Casa Neverending.

THIS YEAR, EBI'S GENEROUS DONORS ARE OFFERING THEIR BEAUTIFUL HOUSE FOR ONE WEEK AT $1,500!

A little background:

Casa Neverending is a luxurious universally designed home with views of the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra Laguna mountains. Designed by architects House and House of San Francisco and San Miguel Allende in modern Mexican style, it is an exquisite 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom wheelchair-accessible home with beautiful ramps, as seen in the photos.

Casa Neverending sits in a little village, Cabo Pulmo, on the Baja peninsula of Mexico. While only 1.5 hours north of Cabo San Lucas (and its international airport)…it is truly a world away. The village is 6 miles off the paved road in the heart of the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park – a World Heritage site, and is completely off-grid, using solar power and well water. The skies at night are dark. The air is quiet.

This unique home is fully furnished with modern Mexican art and furniture. The wrap around deck on the second floor provides panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez and the majestic mountains that protect this old fishing village. Six restaurants and 3 dive shops provide peaceful diversions.

The accommodations:

The upstairs unit features a loft style master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows. Lie in the king-size bed and watch for whales in the Sea of Cortez, or count pelicans flying over desert hills.  The living room has vast views. And from the wrap around palapa-covered deck with views in three directions, one can watch the sun rise over the Sea of Cortez and set over the Sierra Laguna mountains.  The unit's kitchen is modern with a gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. An outdoor dining area is great year-round. There is access to the finished roof with 360 degree views-great for cocktails, star gazing and sleeping outside.

The downstairs unit features two bedrooms -- each with a private bathroom and private deck (one queen, and one California king that can be two singles). The living room couch also folds out to a bed.  There is an eat-in kitchen, garden decks, shaded garden and sitting area, an outdoor gas bar-b-que grill and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.

A separate deck with water view is available to all for sunbathing, watching the sea, or staring at the stars.  And there's an outside shower for an after-beach rinse.

There are Ipod speakers on both floors, and wireless internet and skype telephone are available. There is also a DVD player and 32" monitor.  There are no phones – unless you bring them.  Air conditioning is available in the bedrooms at an extra charge (due to the cost of propane). Because of gentle sea breezes A/C is only necessary in August and September.

Things to do:

Cool-off in the dipping pool on the first floor deck (5 foot by 6 foot). No television or radio - a sacrifice or a blessing - you decide!

Scuba dive and snorkel on the world famous reefs just off the shore, where the fish and coral are beautiful and abundant. One can choose from three dive shops. You will find white sand beaches and often there's not another soul around. Clear blue waters provide great swimming and surfing. Or hike the marked paths that start near the casa and extend through the surrounding hills where the flora and fauna change with the altitude.  Kayaks, boats, snorkel equipment and dive equipment are available for rent.  There’s sport fishing just outside the marine park. Swordfish, marlin, tuna, and rooster fish are worldclass. Charter a boat or try it from a kayak.

Watch the migration of humpback whales, the jumping rays of Cabo Pulmo, schools of dolphin and a large family of sea lions. In December, January and February wind surfing and kite surfing is spectacular. Lessons are available at Los Barriles.

Several restaurants provide meals from superb inexpensive Mexican to great fresh seafood. Dine at Nancy’s Seafood, El Caballero Mexican fare, Alicia’s homecooked Mexican, Tito’s Bar and Restaurant, the Palapa on the edge of the Sea or the Coral Reef.
