Item Description
The highest bidder will win this handmade wool jacket created by Marin designer, Arlene Wohl. Size: Medium.
In her words:
I make cloth for the body because I love all the transformations that happen on the long journey from the selection of yarns to the coat on the wearer’s back.
I love the idea and the process of selecting distinct yarns and weaving them into a cloth so that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, each strand having lost a little of its identity as it contributes, offers itself to the cloth.
I love the transformation that happens to the cloth when it becomes a garment, and I love it when the garment is worn and transforms the wearer just as the wearer transforms the garment. It is a menage a trois between the creator, the work, and the wearer which happens when clothing becomes more than material. It can endow the wearer with spirit, image, identity. She can don a new personality with each dress.
Item Special Note
The winning bidder can pick up the jacket in San Leandro or Berkeley by arrangement or EBI will add the cost of mailing to the winning bid.
