Item Description
This unique Cherry Burl bowl is hand turned by Jim Parker, father of Jeff Parker, for FEPS Board Member and President.
Bowl dimenations are 10” in diameter by 3.5” high.
Turned from a large burl growth on the side of a cherry tree. The visual appeal derives from the random grain, inclusion of bark pieces, and the resultant variation in visual response to various wood finishes.
Burl wood has a unique, wavy grain derived from an abnormal growth in the tree. Cherry burl in particular has a strong, attractive grain and a warm golden color, making it a good choice for turning projects, like pens or bowls.
