Singer/Actor Cynthia Vaughn and pianist Holly Harty perform a private house concert of Songs and Readings from "The Portable Dorothy Parker", including selections from Seymour Barab's "Songs of Perfect Propriety." Parker's witty poems and Barab's light and tuneful songs are the perfect backdrop for a 1930's style cocktail party! "A hangover is the wrath of grapes." --Dorothy Parker

More Dorothy Parker quotes: "The first thing I do in the morning is brush my teeth and sharpen my tongue." "If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to." "Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone." "Don't look at me in that tone of voice," CYNTHIA VAUGHN has performed professional musical theater, opera, and oratorio in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Cincinnati, and Denver. Recent performances at Midtown Arts Center in Colorado include Mother Abbess/The Sound of Music; Aunt Eller/Oklahoma!; Martha/White Christmas; BirdWoman, Miss Andrew/Mary Poppins. In Eastern Washington, Cynthia sings with Mid-Columbia Mastersingers and has performed as a soloist with Yakima Symphony Orchestra. Cynthia teaches locally and presents workshops and masterclasses across the country. HOLLY HARTY is president of Tri-Cities Music Teachers Association.
