2011 Miner "The Oracle" Napa Valley Red Wine Magnum (1.5L)
“Ripe and opulent aromas of jammy currant, blackberry, crème de cassis, bittersweet chocolate and dessert spice, over warm vanilla toast and cedar. Luscious on the palate, offering rich and ripe blackberry, plum and red currant, with notes of black licorice, espresso, clove and smoky oak. Smooth tannins on the long finish. Delicious.” -- Sante Magazine
"As a broad generalization, Napa Valley wines made from mountain fruit fared better than Napa wines crafted from valley floor fruit for the 2011 vintage. And so it is with “The Oracle,” a single-vineyard blend from the Stagecoach Vineyard in Napa’s eastern hills. With aromas and flavors of red cherry, dark chocolate, blueberry and hints of fennel, eucalyptus and black pepper, it’s an undeniably complex elixir without the bracing tannins that often restrict the immediate enjoyment of Bordeaux-style wines. Perfectly balanced and almost soft on the palate, this is a wine that could be aged or opened tonight — your choice, and you win either way." -- Wine Lines
The flagship wine of Miner Family Winery, The Oracle is an exceptionally balanced, full-bodied red blend made from grapes grown at Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. The 2011 vintage grants a nod toward elegance. Merlot-driven, with Cabernet Sauvignon in close second, this Bordeaux-style blend is silky, reserved and supremely balanced. Lush aromatics of raspberry and dark cherry with a hint of eucalyptus, The Oracle is decadent, but with finesse. Earthiness and layers of dried flowers and cocoa integrate harmoniously into a finely balanced marriage between tannin and acid, providing the structure that ensures, like all impeccable beauties, this wine is sure to age gracefully.
