Item Description

For almost 15 years, Kosta Browne has crafted intensely-flavored and balanced wines from the finest regions in California, including the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations. Founders Dan Kosta, Michael Browne and Chris Costello's dedication to quality, stewardship and commitment to customer relationships has propelled the brand to industry leader, producing some of the most sought-after new world Pinot Noirs.

You are bidding on one bottle each of the 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages. The 2012 and 2014 bottles are Sonoma Coast, and the 2013 is from the Russian River appelation.

2012 Kosta Brown Gap's Crown Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Similarly styled (to the 2010), the 2012 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown has plenty of charred spices, plum, licorice, scorched earth and dried flowers to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich, yet nicely focused style on the palate. It took plenty of air, so decant if drinking anytime soon. It should have a solid 8-10 years of evolution. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vintage, and had seamless, elegant characters. They're beautiful now, but I suspect they will evolve nicely given their overall balance.  (10/2014)

2013 Kosta Browne Koplen Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

One of the more feminine, elegant and pretty Pinot Noirs in the lineup, the 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard exhibits a lot of spring flowers and sappy underbrush notes, as well as ample underlying darker berry fruit. Lively, fresh and taut on the palate, yet still with depth of fruit and texture, it’s beautiful now but should evolve gracefully. (10/2015)

2014 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Deep, rich and earthy, with notes of bouquet garni, smoked earth, licorice and dark fruits, it has full-bodied richness, a big mid-palate and is packed with gorgeous amounts of fruit. It's a big, rich wine from this cool climate appellation, yet I suspect it will show more classic Sonoma Coast characteristics with a year or two in bottle. It's a beautiful wine." (9/2016)
