"What we do is give people access to all the products they need but don’t want to own for great experiences,” Fernandez told me. “That could be anything — tents for camping, cotton candy machines, a waffle press for brunch.”

It’s that focus on experiences that’s supposed to make Joymode stand out. After all, equipment rental isn’t a new idea, but Joymode doesn’t rent you individual pieces of equipment. Instead, it creates kits designed to provide everything you need for certain experiences and events — Backyard Movie Night, Let’s Go Camping, Get Your Grill On and so on.

Joymode was founded in the summer of 2015 and is based in Downtown Los Angeles (right next to Staples Center). We work in a huge warehouse filled with giant Jenga sets, old-fashioned popcorn machines, and all the fog machines you could ever want.

Joymode’s mission is to help you do more (and have more fun!) while owning less. We deliver the products you need to have great experiences with family and friends, and we pick them up afterwards, too. With Joymode, you reserve the experience that you’d like to enjoy. You can book your reservation on the same day you want the products, for a future week or weekend, or up to three months in advance if you’re a member. 

Joymode members pay an annual membership fee, which lets you reserve experiences at less than 10% of what they would cost at retail, and includes free delivery, insurance, and pickup. Our membership program exists to ensure the quality of the products and their availability for our members. Members also enjoy other benefits, like early access to new experiences.

Item Special Note

Winning bidders, item will shipped via USPS in a flat rate envelope or box which includes $50 insurance and tracking.  This shipping charge will be added to the winning bid for this item. The item will be shipped once the auction is closed and payment has been processed. (If one bidder wins multiple items, we will attempt to consolidate shipping and reduce charges. Based on size, shape and packaging of some items, this may not always be possible).

If your item fits into a business-sized envelope and you would like it to be mailed standard mail with no insurance and tracking, please email us at kaleidoscope@newroads.org and let us know.

We will automatically charge your account for the flat rate box unless otherwise instructed. Thank you.

Members of the New Roads School community may pick up items at school once a distribution day is announced (approximately 6 days after the auction closes and payments are processed).
