Our Nursery

The Nursery started in 1987, but the Kerns’ have been involved in landscaping for over 30 years.  Pat says “When we started the nursery we were so small it was ridiculously funny, and being off the main roads didn’t help, but as word of mouth spread our business has continually gotten bigger and bigger.  We now have a large and very unique nursery, where the environment you shop in is like a well cared for garden – not a supermarket.  More than that, we are a nursery for gardeners because the plant selection we offer makes it worth coming from a good distance away..

Our Gardens

Our gardens over the years, have really become so popular our regular customers will bring their visiting friends and relatives over just to see the gardens that change with the seasons. This is fine with us. It gives people confidence in our abilities when they see what we have achieved on our property. They see that there is potential to create their own beautiful gardens in the mountain top environment.

Landscaping Services

Our landscaping business has grown in recent years.  We have done a lot of work with home owners on the Catskills Mountaintop.  
Here we highlight a number of recent projects and describe our design ideas and approaches to some very different settings.  These Kerns Landscaping Features show you examples and explain some ideas that we employ when we approach a new project, whether we start afresh or when we add to or rebuild existing gardens and woodlands. 
You may find the ideas useful and adaptable to your own setting.   We have an experienced team at Kerns and would be very happy to discuss ideas about a project for you.

Our Shop

The investment of an annual pot all the way up to a handsome specimen tree  require all the right elements to achieve a healthy, long lasting result.

Included here, Kerns can also arrange delivery of bulk soil and mulches for the jobs that may entail larger quantities.

Kerns carries many shapes and sizes of clay pottery from the average to the unusual. There is also imported pottery in different color finishes,  cast iron pottery, fiberglass pottery, cast stone and real stone pots, fountains, sculpture, lanterns.

Kerns also has for sale a quality, heavy grade of cedar furniture.  If what you want is not in stock it can easily be ordered and usual takes 1-2 weeks before it can be available for you

Weddings

At Kerns Nursery we are able to assist you with your decorating and gift needs on your special day. Our wedding services range from designing bouquets, table centerpieces, and floral arrangements for all wedding locations including homes, gardens, and houses of worship. We can also offer you the use of our own beautifully landscape garden here at Kerns Nursery.

Our shop has many great items that would make perfect gifts both for the wedding party and the newlyweds, including Pat Kerns' custom designed jewelry. Please call us with any questions you might have about our wedding services.
