Chaminade’s award-winning robotics team invites you to enter the world of technological creation with our fun and exciting Inventor Basket. This gift is suitable for anyone age 10 to 100 who enjoys technology and wants an introduction to the maker movement. No special skill or experience is necessary - Just a hearty curiosity and an interest in things that beep, blink and beguile.

The basket includes:

  • One Sparkfun Inventor’s Kit, containing an Arduino-programmable SparkfunRedBoard along with parts and supplies to complete 16 programming and electronics exercises that will open you up to an endless world of possibilities.Arduino is an open-source computer hardware and software platform for building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical world.   • Four One-On-One Programming Training Sessions with one or more of Eagle Engineering’s student programmers and mentors.  Learn how to use your Arduino and build circuits that do a variety of cool things!Must be scheduled  in advance subject to staff and student availability between May and October of 2017.Estimated value: $300
  • Up to 12 Hours of 3D Design and Printing Services – Student engineers will take your ideas for, well… whatever and design it in professional 3D modeling software, then turn it into a reality on our 3D printer.Must be scheduled in advance dependent on staff and student availability between May and December of 2017.   • A Day of Invention – Spend a build day with Eagle Engineering designing and building Vex robots for competition. You’ll get to experience the fun and challenge of creating a machine to play a game made for robots.   • 3D Printing Samples – We’ve included a variety of objects made on our 3D printer to inspire you and spark your imagination to create your next great invention. Estimated value: $30
