Point Reyes National Seashore Association is happy to partner again with our friends at the University of California at Berkeley Botanical Garden and the Urban Bee Lab for a year of exploring 34 acres of diverse botanical delights with over 13,000 different kinds of plants from around the world, cultivated by region in naturalistic landscapes.

Plus, enjoy a $25 gift certificate from Bette's Oceanview Diner, where good food and friendly service make this Berkeley favorite world famous!

You'll receive a one-year membership to the UC Botanical Garden, a non-profit research garden and museum with reciprocal privileges at nearly 300 gardens, arboreta, and conservatories throughout North America.

Also included is a copy of the Urban Bee Lab's "California Bees & Blooms: A Guide for Gardeners and Naturalists," by Gordon W. Frankie, Robbin W. Thorp, Rollin E. Coville, and Barbara Ertter.

The UC Botanical Garden is a non-profit research garden and museum for the University of California at Berkeley, having a notably diverse plant collection including many rare and endangered plants. Established in 1890, the Garden, which is open to the public year-round, is a living collection of the native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants of the State of California.

The university's Urban Bee Lab has been working since 1987 on documenting bee diversity and bee frequencies on wild California plants in several northern California sites. This research led to a series of new bee sampling methods that have found about 90 species of bees, most of which are native to California. Once sampling is completed in other urban residential areas of the SFBA, we expect this number to increase well beyond 100.

Bette's Oceanview Diner is a Berkeley institution, family-owned and -run since 1982. Most famous for their pancakes be they buttermilk, cottage cheese, pumpkin or gingerbread they are a California-style diner with emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and homemade fare. From their lemon currant scones to our blueberry, bran and donut muffins (rolled in butter then cinnamon sugar), all of their baked goods are made on the premises by their fabulous bakers. The coffee steaming in that bottomless cup is roasted in nearby Emeryville and their bagels are from down the street. They like their eggs cooked soft and custardy.

So don't miss out on year-round access to plants from around the world, California bees, and Berkeley eats. Bid today!
