Item Description

Point Reyes National Seashore Association is delighted to partner again with our friends Alice Waters and the Café at Chez Panisse for a special dinner for two, and an overnight stay with champagne bunch for two at The Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa in Oakland, California.

In addition, thanks to our partners at Point Reyes Books and Vita Collage in Point Reyes Station, you'll receive an autographed copy of Alice's new memoir, "Coming to My Senses: The Making of a Counterculture Cook," and a lovely gift of bag and scarf, respectively.

The Café at Chez Panisse opened in 1980, offering an alternative to the set menu served in the Restaurant. The Café provides a moderately priced à la carte menu for both lunch and dinner. It has an open kitchen along one side with a charcoal grill and wood burning oven. The menu is inspired by the market and changes twice a day.

You and a guest will enjoy dinner for two paired with a bottle of house wine, where all the produce, meat, poultry, and fish comes from farms, ranches, and fisheries guided by principles of sustainability.

Alice Waters has been a champion of local sustainable agriculture for over four decades. In 1995 she founded the Edible Schoolyard Project, which advocates for a free school lunch for all children and a sustainable food curriculum in every public school.

The Claremont began as a castle at the turn of the 20th Century and was transformed into a luxury hotel in 1915. Recently renovated for the modern age and situated high above the bustle of Berkeley, it remains a haven for hundreds of people like yourself looking to unwind.

Savor the unique architecture, relax in one of three outdoor pools, hit the courts for a game of tennis (there are 10 to choose from!), bask in the panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay, take your pet for a walk around the grounds, participate in one of their Restorative Fitness classes, or treat yourself at their award-winning spa.

This package includes a delicious champagne brunch for two at the acclaimed Meritage Restaurant so that you can conclude your Claremont Experience with a nourished body as well as a rested mind.

Plus, take home an elegant blue batik fabric and brown leather zippered overnight bag, and patterned blue cotton scarf wrap, both courtesy of our longtime donor, Vita Collage.

Vita Collage is a distinctive store with a discerning perspective, featuring fine art, books, jewelry, women's clothing, fashion accessories, and furnishings. Located on Main Street in downtown Point Reyes Station.

Enjoy a complete East Bay adventure with food, wine, a great book, and a gorgeous bag and scarf, bid today!
