Get away from it all with a two-and-a-half-hour guided hike in Point Reyes National Seashore with international naturalist Michael Ellis and enjoy a two-night stay at Lone Fir Cottage in Inverness.

As well as leading his own natural history forays, Michael Ellis also guides trips for a number of Bay Area organizations. His B.S. in Botany and Masters in Marine Biology are the foundation for his lifelong process of gathering information from travels throughout the natural world.
Lone Fir Cottage is a private guest cottage on five sunny acres, adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore. The cottage features an open floor plan, with the main bedroom just three steps up from the living/dining area.
Both the main floor and the second bedroom are surrounded by windows on three sides, and the cottage has high ceilings. As you look into the tree-tops, the effect is light and airy -- like being in a nest!
The cottage has a wood-burning stove, a furnace, and a heated slate floor in the full bath. Beautiful hardwood floors, slate and copper counters, Douglas fir cabinetry and beamed ceilings, and wrought iron details decorate the interior.
There is a sunny south- and east-facing deck for outdoor dining, or just relaxing. A beautiful private hot tub is steps from the deck.
On the other side of the seasonal creek lies Point Reyes National Seashore, featuring miles of beaches and trails, over beautiful rolling hills. Visitors watch whales and elephant seal pups in the winter, stroll through meadows of wildflowers in the spring, swim in Tomales Bay in summer and fall, and dine in exceptional restaurants and visit galleries all year-long.
Mendelson Wine's Pinot Gris grapes are grown in the Napa Valley and fermented in small French oak barrels and fortified with alambic pot distilled brandy, the perfect accompaniment for a wide variety of foods -- fruit-based, nut-based, salty and spicy.
