Item Description
One Mexican/Hispanic settlement, Chimayo, kept up its weaving and has persistently continued in its practice that Cimayo blankets have become known all over the world highly prized by collectors. The settlements are about 25 miles north of Santa Fe. Locations of the Chimayo settlements were occupied by Native Americans long prior to the advent of Spaniards and Mexicans. The weaving is distinclty different from Navajo. The beautiful pattern on the vest is distinctly Chimayo. Buttons are Native American Nickels.

Commercial yarn of 100% wool is used. Dyes are colorfast. Dry cleaning is recommended.
