Item Description
Join West Marin local historian, Dewey Livingston, on a walking tour for 10 of Point Reyes Station. Learn about downtown Point Reyes Station and then explore the town on your own!
Point Reyes National Seashore Association Bookstore will also provide the winning bidder a copy of "Point Reyes Peninsula: Olema, Point Reyes Station, and Inverness" by Carola DeRooy and Dewey Livingston. Carola is Park Archivist at Point Reyes National Seashore.
Dewey Livingston has acted as the West Marin local historian for over 30 years and is a historian/curator at the Jack Mason Museum of West Marin History. He has long enjoyed working with students at West Marin School, sharing history and occasionally teaching three-dimensional map making.
Dewey is also a professional historian, authoring many major studies for the National Park Service, and writes local books and articles. Among these are "Nicasio: The Historic Valley at the Center of Marin," "In the Heart of Marin: The History of Kentfield and Greenbrae, California," and "Discovering Historic Ranches at Point Reyes." He is now working on a comprehensive history of the Point Reyes Peninsula and Tomales Bay area.
Dewey helped to create and train docents for Point Reyes Station Historic Walking Tours.
Dewey and his wife Kerry Munger raised three children in West Marin.
