Item Description
Spectacular Model of the HMS Centurion British Battle Ship (1732-1769) meticulously handcrafted by model ship artist Alan Burghardt.

The original HMS Rose cannonaded Stonington Village in 1775 during the American Revolution. This model led Alan into making many others, some 50-60 models to date.
Alan's models are now in many private collections, as well as public institutions including the the Mystic Seaport Museum. His love of the sea and the beauty of the old ships is evident in the results. A collateral descendant of the Palmers of Stonington, Alan hods a special appreciation for Captain Nat Palmer's career as a captain and designer of clipper ships.
Alan and his wife live in Clinton, CT.
