KXCI's Tuesday Afternoon Music Mix
You and DJ El Toro will agree on one hour between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on a particular Tuesday Afternoon Music Music Mix that works for you to come down to the KXCI Studios, 220 S. 4th Avenue in Tucson in Armory Park- or maybe even our brand new studio in Hotel Congress.
You'll be able to select 8 of your favorite songs ahead of time and tell our listeners why they are important to you. You'll also be able to tell us a little about you, the music you have selected and why it’s important to you. People anywhere in the world will be able to listen to your show at www.kxci.org and locally at 91.3 KXCI Tucson. We can also make you a copy of your show.
Each week, DJ El Toro plays two hours of music from all genres and eras, hand-picked to reflect the world around us in all its beauty and weirdness.
DJ El Toro has been spinning a wide variety of music, from Arthur Russell to Annie Ross, since 1996. Prior to joining the KXCI family, he was host for 10+ years at KEXP Seattle. Reared on the sounds of WHFS 99.1 FM Annapolis, MD during the '80s, his sets owe much to his short attention span, insatiable appetite for new music (regardless of vintage), and the lessons of many savvy mentors. Auction winner will receive a gift certificate to contact DJ El Toro. Once arrangements are made, Guest DJ must submit their set list a minimum of 72 hours before their guest spot so that we can review it for FCC compliance and overall length.
