Item Description
Thanks to Jane Golden, one of our newest auction donors, Jane will donate a gift certificate to a new student for one month's worth of classes in Tai Chi or Qi Gong. Classes are held at Salmon Middle School, on the Bohemian Highway in Occidental, California.
Jane Golden established her School of Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong in Sonoma County in 1979. Her medical, martial, and spiritual perspectives have profoundly influenced thousands of students. Jane's high level of achievement is based on decades of formal instruction and traditional practice of slow set, fast set, push hands, weapons and Qigong. In honor of the Chinese Masters under whom she studied, Jane imparts the value of the ancient traditions.
Jane's 1 ½-hour sessions include instruction of slow Tai Chi Chuan, Fast Tai Chi Chuan, and push hands. All levels are welcome and new students may join at the beginning of each month. With practice, one can expect increased vitality, enhanced serenity, and improvement of balance, posture, circulation and focus.
Tai Chi is an internal form. The student spends many hours of slow practice, becoming aware of the energy flow inside his body and developing strength, balance, spirit and health.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise that is literally translated as "breathing exercise." Qi is "life force," which essentially means breath. Gong means work or cultivation, hence Qigong is working with and cultivating the breath or life force. References to this art can be found as far back as we can trace the history of the Chinese culture. Qigong is core to the foundation of Chinese medicine, Chinese martial arts, and Chinese meditation. It is still widely practiced today, its longevity being one of its strongest endorsements.
