Item Description

This original Hugh Mandelert painting is titled, dated, and signed on the back of the painting by Hugh Mandelert. It is an acrylic painting on plywood with a metal frame. It is 42" x 34" with frame. Painted in 1987. The original artwork is on display at the Heyde Center for the Arts until October 27, 2017.

Hugh Mandelert was raised in Chippewa Falls, attending high school here until he transferred to The Hill School in Pennsylvania for his senior year in 1945. After working in New York City in commercial art for 20 years, Hugh came back to Chippewa Falls in 1972 and started his second career in fine art as an art instructor.

The Northern Wisconsin State Fair is a state fair held annually in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. It was started in 1897 when the state government recognized the difficulty northern Wisconsin citizens had in trying to reach the Wisconsin State Fair held in West Allis. The Northern Wisconsin State Fair in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is a family friendly event held annually with roots from the early county and district fairs. In addition to fair rides and fair foods, there are friendly competitions of agricultural products, homemade wares, and local talents.

The original is currently owned by Dr. David Chisholm who is making it available for sale through the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc. Any formal appraisals of the artwork are the responsibility of the buyer. The painting is sold "as is" with the original framing. All artwork is in excellent condition. The frame is in good to fair condition. 

The Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc. (CVCA), aka Heyde Center for the Arts, will receive a commission from the sale of this artwork. These funds will help further the mission of the CVCA to be "...a catalyst for artistic expression and education to enrich the Chippewa Valley and beyond." 

Item Special Note

Paintings will be available for pick up on Monday, October 30, 2017 starting at 10:00am. All buyers are responsible for picking up and transporting their purchase.

If the buyer is not picking up the painting in person, packaging, handling and shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. The Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc. can assist in the shipping of artwork, but packaging, handling and shipping costs must be paid for in advance of mailing. Once the painting leaves the Heyde Center for the Arts, it is the full responsibility of the buyer. The Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc. is not liable for damages or losses due to shipping, transportation, or other causes (natural or human). It is strongly recommended that the buyer arrange to have the artwork insured during transportation to the painting's final destination.

If the painting is not picked up, ninety days (90) after the expiration of the exhibit period (October 27, 2017) the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc. will notify buyer at the last address provided by certified mail that the painting purchase has not been retrieved. If the purchased painting has not been retrieved one year after the expiration date, the property will become an unrestricted gift to Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc.
