He coached Harvard to its first ever NCAA Tournament victory with a 5-4 win over Drake in 1992, and has coached the Crimson to 15 total NCAA tourney wins.

Rueb has helped guide the Crimson to a 168-82 record and has coached 17 All-Ivy selections in singles and 11 All-Ivy duos in doubles in his six seasons. Andrew was a standout for the Crimson, playing No. 1 singles and doubles during his career and was inducted into the Harvard Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. He was twice voted the Ivy League Player of the Year in 1993 and 1995 and competed at the NCAA tournament three times. He was a four-time first-team All-Ivy recipient, twice in singles and twice in doubles. Academically, he received the prestigious John Reardon Award for Harvard's Scholar-Athlete of the year in 1995. In the spring of 2013, Rueb was inducted into the Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame.
Rueb spent time as a journeyman on the professional tennis circuit and published an article of his travels in Tennis Week Magazine and has blogged for the New York Times about tennis.
