Currently living and working in Lawton, Oklahoma, Robert Peterson (b. 1981) is a
self-taught artist. His spontaneous realism portraits have been exhibited
and sold in galleries in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Oklahoma City,
Venice Beach and Lawton, OK. Peterson's highly sought-after works have
been collected by celebrities like hip hop mogul Diddy, Swizz Beatz,
James Cruz, Fabolous and athletes like Carlos Boozer, Amare
Stoudemire, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Derrell Revis, as well as the Harold
Hamm family and many others. Robert Peterson’s work has been
commissioned from both Nike and Tony & Guy as well as Monster
Products and Sol Republic. Robert's goal is to create portraits of people
that have never been captured by camera before by using multiple images
combined with live models and his imagination. Peterson made Oklahoma
history by becoming the first African American to ever receive the artist of
the year in Southwest Oklahoma for his continued efforts to create
amazing works of art and philanthropy in January 2017. Most recently
Robert was awarded Spectrum Spotlight Artist of the year during Art Basel
Miami 2017.
