Item Description

Paul Neve is a Mexican born photographer who grew up in metropolitan Los Angeles and spent many of his adult years in La Quinta, CA. While living there he discovered his love of photography and spent much of his time photo journaling and beautifying all aspects of life in the desert, including nature and animal studies, special events, as well as many interesting characters he encountered along the way. Being isolated in the desert, the boom of social media outlets like Instagram and other photography groups connected him to thousands of other photographers across the country where through cyberspace they challenged and influenced each other to produce and edit work outside their own familiar medium. In his early forties he moved back to urban Los Angeles where he became extremelyinvolved in the Instagram community, helping to organize and lead events like theme or place based "Instameets." During these last several years, he has connected with and learned from a multitude of various artists of all levels of experience, who work with many different kinds of equipment and subject matter, including studio and portrait work. Paul has proven to be an incredibly talented artist who exquisitely captures the unique beauty in anything or anyone he chooses to shoot. This may be the pensive expression on the face of a young homeless woman reflected in a street puddle on a rare rainy day in DTLA, the melancholy of a lonely alley in a neglected, forgotten neighborhood backed by an explosive sunset, or the pride and joy at the core of his heart, his three year old daughter Sabine. "I don't focus on any particular person, area or thing. I consider myself a street photographer who captures everything…I feel each picture in itself is a story and that every aspect of a cherished moment or expression counts in making each individual's interpretation of it what it is…"
