Item Description
You and up to 3 guests (total 4 persons) will have the unforgettable experience of an afternoon sail on Merlin, Bill Lee's 68-ft long, 12-foot wide, 25,000 pound sailboat called "the sweetheart of Santa Cruz", while she is here for a short time on the West Coast of Florida.
Merlin has made history in 1977 when she set the record for the Transpacific Race, from Long Beach, CA to Diamondhead, Hawaii in 1977. She finished the 2,200 mile race in 8 days, 11 hours, and 1 minute. Her time has been the official TransPac record ever since.
Since then, Merlin has competed in many races and been one of the most well-known racing yachts. More recently, she raced the 278 nautical mile race from Tampa to Havana, Cuba on her 1st East Coast outing, with a time of 1 day, 19 hours, and 31 minutes.
Now you can have the unbelievable opportunity to sail on this historic and impressive yacht while she is still here on the East Coast. Imagine yourself and your friends sailing Tampa Bay like this: https://youtu.be/07arAgpfnmQ
The afternoon sail must be arranged prior to April 26, and is dependent on scheduling availability.
