Item Description

This item is an amazing 3-Day Weekend at a mountain cabin located at the “Staircase” entrance to the Olympic National Park at Lake Cushman, Washington.

The owner of this property likes to tell people, "We own property in the two most beautiful spots on earth: One is in Kona on the Island of Hawaii and the other is a cabin on the border of the Olympic National Park in Washington state".

Lake Cushman is fed by the Skokomish River running out of the high divide of the Olympic National Park. It is a wonderland for hikers and climbers as numerous trail heads will take you to the Pacific Shore or to the Straits of Juan De Fuca bordering British Columbia to the North. The area has year round fishing, rainforests to explore, nearby hotsprings and Hood Canal provides crabbing, salt water fishing and an amazing variety of fish and wildlife. There are three kayaks available at the cabin and summer time swimming in the lake is wonderful.

Beautiful mountains and forest surround the cabin and a BBQ and a fire pit are available for outdoor dinners and lunch. Weather is generally mild during all seasons. The rainy season is generally during the winter months (November-February) with snow sometimes during unusually cold years. When the sun is out in late spring, summer and autumn you will think you have gone to heaven and the smell of the rain forest is amazing!

Lake Cushman is located 11 miles from the town of Hoodsport, on U.S. Highway 101 and has a wonderful Mexican Restaurant, a winery and small shops. It is also a great starting point for touring the Olympic Peninsula or visiting the National Historic Town of Port Townsend.

The cabin has one main bedroom with a double bed and a loft with two doubles and a single. The couch folds out to a double bed in the living room and there is also a fold-out double futon available.

The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans utensils, etc. and there is a bathroom with a tub/ shower plus a washer/dryer. There is coffee, tea, and condiments available during your stay.

There is Wifi and telephone but no TV. There is no cellphone coverage but you can get coverage in Hoodsport.
