About Debra O'Brien: "During a Fashion Illustration class at FSU, I was given an assignment to design and photograph a fashion spread. It was the first time I ever picked up a camera and I have never put it down since. I have been working in film for plus 25 years specializing in the art of black and white portraiture. Offering Silver Gelatin Prints to my customers of their children and families was a privilege and a rewarding career.
Weddings are one of the most special events to document. It is an occasion for celebration as well as reunion and blessing.
Capturing images that are compositionally excellent and flattering is important as a portraitist. Documenting human emotion at the right moment, being able to communicate and tell a story is what separates the ordinary from the exceptional. knowing when an image is worthy is paramount.
The landscape work is inspired more from a design perspective than from the nature itself. Composition, light ,shadows ,and elements of how light effects the subject matter can be viable and poetic. Having a receptive and positive attitude, a thankful heart, and the desire to excel while providing good customer service is what I hope to share."
