Full name is Edrice Adebayo…goes by the nickname “Bam” which was given to him at the age of one after flipping over a table while watching The Flintstones in a manner that resembled one of the characters, Bam-Bam Rubble...is the son of Marilyn Blount and John Adebayo…his cousin, Bruce Peartree, played basketball at East Carolina University and his cousin, Avery Oden played at Shaw University...credits his mother as the person who made a difference in his life and despite their struggles she made him the man he is today…keeps a framed picture of the single-wide trailer he grew up in North Carolina as a reminder of where he came from and to stay humble, near the bottom of the photo engraved on a metal plate are the words: Never forget where you came from, and never lose sight of where you are going... his most prized possession is his cell phone…first started playing basketball in 2010...trained with Rasheed Wallace during the summer of 2016 before he enrolled at Kentucky…his favorite sport other than basketball is football and he’s a fan of the New York Giants…played football in high school where he was a wide receiver and a defensive end…played basketball his first three years in high school at Northside High School in Pinetown, NC where he averaged 32.2 points and 18 rebounds as a junior before transferring to High Point Christian Academy for his senior year…averaged 18.9 points and 13.0 rebounds in his senior year at High Point Christian Academy and led the Cougars to a NCISAA state championship appearance…was named the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior in 2016…played in both the McDonald’s All-America Game and the Jordan Brand Classic in 2016...was named a Second Team All-American by USA Today and was a finalist for the Morgan Wootten Player of the Year Award…was an honor roll student in high school and was a member of the poetry club…says something most people don’t know about him is that he’s a fan of Katy Perry…wears size 16 sneakers."
