Item Description
Coffee farmer, Masaichi Fukumitsu, with donkey loaded with bags, c. 1934. Donkeys known as "Kona Nightingale" (because of their braying) were a very essential part of the coffee industry in Kona.
This photograph on canvas appeared in Kona Historical Society's 2017 exhibit, The Kona Coffee Story: Along the Hawaii Belt Road. Dimensions are 40"x60".
