Item Description
"The Island Way"
By Bob Krauss
Photographs by James F. Morgan Jr.
This book is No. 87 of a limited edition of 5,000 copies from the Hawaiian Bicentennial Library.
It is a signed copy.
This book was supposedly once owned by Thurston Twigg-Smith, one of the people named in the dedication.
Excerpt from author's Advice to Readers: "This is quite a big book. That's because it is about walking and sailing an outrigger canoes around the Big Island of Hawaii. A lot happens when you travel by canoe. Even more when you walk. My advice is to take it by easy stages. When you get tired, stop and rest. If you like a place, stay for a while. Don't be afraid to slow down and think. It doesn't matter much when you get there so long as you enjoy the trip. That's the island way."
