Item Description
Enjoy these two books by Don Blanding, who is a poet, author, soldier of fortune and vagabond.
Book One: "Floridays"
Copyright 1944.
Excerpt from book: "I will not give a casual love to you. I'll drench my memory with your sea's rich blue, And carve across my heart the cameos, Of clouds, stark white on skies of mauve and rose. I'll weave a net of shadows cast by jasmine vines, Against the walls. These tangled ghostly vines, Will tether restless feet when they stray. I'll loot from every hour of the day."
Book Two: "Stowaways in Paradise"
Copyright 1946.
Excerpt from book: "Something very curious was going on under the canvas cover of one of the big life-boats on the large passenger liner City of Hilo as it steamed around the gaunt old carter of Diamond Head on its way into the harbor of Honolulu in the Hawaiian Islands. There were small sounds of whisperings and scufflings as of bodies moving cautiously. Suddenly there came a bump, followed by giggles quickly stifled."
