Item Description

John Kelly (1878-1962), a nationally acclaimed, award-winning artist is widely regarded as a master printmaker whose extraordinary technique, composition, and use of color was highly praised by major art critics.  His etchings are in museums and private collections throughout the world.

Kelly’s art reflects a deep understanding and a genuine appreciation of Native Hawaiian people. He captures the lives and traditional practices of Native Hawaiians from 1920s through the 1950s.

Kelly developed a technique in aquatint etching that remains unparalleled. Art critics heaped praise on not only his subjects, but the extraordinary technique.

Original menu in 14"x17.75" koa frame. Some wear from exposure to sunlight, but still very beautiful image.
