Item Description
Are you asking what Quilling is?
So did we and here is what we found out - Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc. A Victorian Art endeavor done by ladies of leisure.
Take a look at the photos and know that it took 40 to 50 hours to create this piece along with $20 in materials. It is 11" x 17" and is ready to be put in a shadow box. If you don't want to put it in a shadow box...hang it on the wall and just use air to blow the dust off it. The paper used is acid free and does not fade.
Here is an article on the creator of this piece - Mille Douglas. She uses a great number of tools including a pasta cutter and to make the stuffing for the vase she used a old-fashioned angel food cutter and what ever else is handy. The other creations Mille makes are tying streamer flies for her son-in-law and CfR participants!
Thanks Mille for your support!
