Item Description
These 4" coasters are made by Aloe Tile Works, a ceramic art tile studio in Corpus Christi, Texas. The coasters are individually hand-made with a slip-painted, mid-range, custom-blended stoneware. They are dishwasher and microwave safe. Don’t drop them on a stone or tile floor or hit them with a hammer because then they will break and you will be sad.
Aloe Tile Works is owned by Cornelia Henderson Gates and her husband Ed Gates. Cornelia was a participant at the first Casting for Recovery Texas retreat in 2005, and has volunteered since for CfR.
Aloe Tile Works supports CfR Texas with donations to the auction associated with the Alamo Fly Fishers’ Lydia Ann Fly Masters Fishing Tournament which, to date, has raised over $40,000 for CfR Texas. Aloe Tile Works also makes the award plaques for the Lydia Ann Fly Masters Tournament. The Lydia Ann Fly Masters Tournament is held in Aransas Pass, Texas, which has some excellent fisheries nearby, and which could really use a few more visitors to help the economy recover from Hurricane Harvey. So, if you are inclined to fly fish in saltwater, consider coming down to the Texas Coast in 2019, and fish during the Lydia Ann Fly Masters, and join the Alamo Fly Fishers helping to raise funds for CfR Texas.
