Item Description
The successful bidder for this item will be the exclusive recipient of a fine art print of the original painting "Untitled" by Tsherin Sherpa appearing on the cover of the Winter 2018 edition of Buddhadharma: The Practitioner's Quarterly.
Tsherin Sherpa began studying traditional Tibetan thangka painting at the age of twelve with his father, a renowned thangka painter. After studying computer science and Mandarin in Taiwan, Tsherin returned to his birthplace of Nepal, where he collaborated with his father on several important projects, including monastery mural paintings. In 1998, he immigrated to California and began to explore his own colorful style, incorporating his traditional training into the thoroughly modern approach we see in "Untitled".
This unique, archival print has been made available through the generosity of the artist and his gallery, Rossi & Rossi (London and Hong Kong). Since 1985, Rossi & Rossi has established itself as a pioneer in the development of contemporary Asian art—attracting major museums and private collectors worldwide. The gallery has been an invaluable resource for Lion's Roar Foundation, making available for publication a number of outstanding works, including those by Gade, Nortse and Tenzing Rigdol.
