Travelers on this journey spend their first days in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal exploring the Pharping Valley and its many sacred sites. The group stays at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in beautiful Pharping and receives daily guided meditation sessions and an introduction to Buddhist philosophy. From here the pilgrimage journeys southward to the birthplace of the Buddha in Lumbini, near the border between India and Nepal. In Lumbini for a few days, the group visits the Buddha’s birthplace and the sacred sites of the area, proceeding from there overland to a beautiful lodge near the Chitwan jungle. The lodge and schedule afford rest, swims in the pool, amazing wildlife in the surrounding jungle, and walks with elephants. Rhinos, tigers, wild deer, birds and other wildlife are there to discover. Upon return to Kathmandu on days 8 & 9 the group will stay in Boudha and visit both Boudha Stupa and Swayambhu Stupa.
