Item Description

Behind-the-scenes tour of Sotheby’s exhibitions

Sotheby’s Senior International Specialist of Contemporary Art, Michael Macaulay, offers a behind-the-scenes tour of Sotheby’s exhibitions of Impressionist, Modern, and Contemporary Art ahead of the major season of auctions in the first half of May 2019 for your group of up to eight people. This is one of the major highlights of the international art market calendar, and offers a unique opportunity to view dozens of modern masterpieces from the world’s finest private collections, in many cases representing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to view these artworks publicly. Previous record-breaking highlights have included The Scream, Edvard Munch’s famous masterwork, sold for $120 million in 2012; Jean-Michel Basquiat’s seminal Untitled, sold for over $110 million in 2017; and Amedeo Modigliani’s Nu couché, sold for $157 million in 2018. To take place at Sotheby’s worldwide headquarters at 1334 York Avenue.
