This unique and special offering is made by Studio School parent Britta Wheeler.

Dr. Britta B. Wheeler, Ph.D.  comes to the Children’s Institute of Fashion Arts as an educator, artist and designer.  She holds a bachelor's in Textiles, Clothing and Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master's of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College, and a master's and a doctorate in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  She was the Faculty Fellow in Art Worlds at New York University's Draper Program.

Dr. Wheeler’s teaching career spans two decades in the fields of the sociology of culture and fashion design. She has taught both adults and children.  Dr. Wheeler conceived of the Children's Institute of Fashion Arts in 2012 when considering the implications of current social and technological changes on what kind of world our children were inheriting. Britta's vision for the CIFA stems from her interdisciplinary career in the fields of sociology, art and design.
