Item Description

Watercolor on Aquarelle, 30" x 22"

The watercolor chair series is a series of 43 works that study the architecture of chairs. Sturdy, reliable, supportive, and beautiful, chairs are quietly a big part of our lives. Interestingly enough, I use a standing desk at work and rarely sit, so I very much look forward to sitting in the chairs in my home by the end of the day! The chairs I have painted are all from different places in my life - my grandparents' modern 60's home had Eames recliners and plywood chairs, my mom rocked her 7 babies in a 70's bentwood rocker that was given to her by a close family friend, and a velvet, rose pink vanity table chair was handed down to my sister from our beloved grandmother - a 50's relic. All of my 43 chairs have stories!
