From the Artist
In modern life we are inundated with unreliable messages (propaganda disguised as information, advertisements). We necessarily deconstruct slickly-packaged false realities with greater speed and more conscious will than we are able to “re-create” an ethically-informed integrity to underlying emotions.
Naive art, eschewing subtext and cleverness, can be restorative, therapeutic, and even necessary. It serves as an antidote to duality, and speaks to the inner child in everyone. The use of natural materials (inherently honest and wholesome), is central to Waldorf education; it encourages towards receptivity and connection. These are human qualities that I hope will be encouraged in the modern world, and I am grateful that my children have experienced the priceless benefit of Waldorf education. –Laura McCullough
