About The Artist
Joseph John Dudding (1931-2018)
Joseph served in the US Navy and retired as Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 30 years of dedicated service to our country. He also retired from his second career as an Engineer with Bell Telephone Company located at Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.
Joseph was a veteran or the Korean War and Operation Desert Storm. He was the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.
Joseph always expressed a tremendous passion and love for being an artist creating works in Classic Realism of people, places and things. Joseph studied at the Baum School of Art, Allentown, PA, Art League of Alexandria, VA, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Studio Incamminati, Philadelphia, PA. Joseph studied with other talented artists such as Ken Marlow, Frank Wright, Nelson Shanks, Robert Liberace and Burt Silverman. Joseph’s numerous works of art have been displayed at the Peter Mcphee Gallery, Stone Harbor, NJ and the 2nd Floor Gallery, Mechanicsburg, PA.
He was also the focus of solo exhibitions at the Arts Club of Washington, DC, Blue Moon Gallery, York, PA, Domani Gallery, Santa Fe, NM and 2nd Floor Gallery, Mechanicsburg, PA. His works have been the recipient of many awards and published in the International Artist's Book "100 Ways to Paint Still Life"; Juried into the International Artist's Magazine, worldwide competition; First Place, Florida International Show; and First Place, USAF worldwide competition. He was a member of 7 Lively Artists, the Arts Club of Washington DC, American Society of Classical Realism, Oil Painters of America (OPA), Art Renewal Center (ARC) and the Classical Underground Society. His prized collections have been displayed at the USAF Arts Collection, Pentagon, and various private collections throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico and US Virgin Islands.
