Item Description
Porcelain, translucent, and hand-carved pod luminaries by local artist, Maria White Mebane.
Inspired by forms and textures in the natural world, Maria strives to make work that is minimal, elegant and asks to be touched. She works primarily in porcelain; always drawn to the translucent quality of this material and infinite possibilities it yields when working with surface and color. Maria's pieces are wheel-thrown, hand-cast and often carved to create surfaces that play with light and shadows.
