Artist Statement:

I create what I call cross-culture folk art. I am inspired particularly by the folk arts of India, South and North America. My art is an attempt to playfully fuse the similarities of these arts that I love so much, as well as the people and cultures their art reflects. My paintings are bright and light-hearted; each piece tells a simple story of love, friendship, family and unity. Elaborate details embodied in a simple form. I create to reflect the beauty that is in the world. Thank you for viewing my art, I hope it brings a smile to your beautiful face!

Artist Biography:

Caroline Sainis was raised in the Mid-West, and has lived coast to coast. She is now settled in Melrose, where she lives with her husband and darling young son. Throughout her life she has always had an artistic hand exploring many facets of art from poetry to pottery. Her love for bright colors and the simple whimsy of folk art grew while visiting her husband's family in India where she gained first hand exposure and appreciation for the arts of India. She was particularly inspired by the work of the Gond and Madhubani. Her art work is without a doubt a reflection of her family, and the joy she finds in her everyday life.

Item Special Note

Pick-up of purchased cods will be July 9-14 at Lizzy Loo, 108 Washington St, Marblehead during normal store hours. The winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.

If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.

Any cod purchased via "Buy Now" will remain on display at the hosting business through the end of the auction, and will be available for pick-up as detailed in the winning bidder notification email.

If winning bidder has not picked up cod (or provided shipping address) within 30 days after the close of the auction, cod will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
