Item Description
Do you have a budding artist in the house? Does your child love theme parks? If so, jump on this one-of-a-kind experience for your child plus one friend to spend the day with legends of the theme park industry, learning how to create and draw like the pros.
The Hettema Group (THG) in Old Town Pasadena is the world-renown creator of themed attractions across the globe and experiences like One World Observatory at the World Trade Center in New York City and the High Roller in Las Vegas.
Two lucky kids will spend the day learning from world-class artists, touring the bustling model shop, and enjoying a hands-on workshop in the basics of theme park design by some of the greatest artists in the industry. The kids will learn how to take an idea and develop it into a fully realized creative concept, then render it into incredible artwork. Walden Parent George Mandella, a producer at THG, will treat the kids to a casual dinner at a local restaurant to share his theme park experiences. The day will culminate with the kids joining THG’s figure drawing class, with a model costumed as an action hero, where they will improve their figure and character drawing skills.
This exciting experience is open to Upper Core students at Walden and perfect for those with an interest in art or design (of any skill level). Art supplies will be provided. To take place on a Tuesday between July 1 and August 23, 2019 from 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Exact time to be scheduled in collaboration with the auction winners.
