Item Description
This beautiful and intricate piece of artwork was created by 6th grader Viola Holland. In the 6th grade, the students study geometry which develops out of the form drawing work done in Grades 1-5. How to use the tools and terminology of this exciting world is learned. The 6th grade class works mainly with the circle and all its divisions, but also works with finding areas and perimeters of other geometrical forms.
This detailed work of art is made of wood, nails & string. There are 24 small nails precisely placed in the form of a circle in the wood, from which string in shades of green and brown, is meticulously wrapped to form an intricate pattern.
